About me
My name is Lauren Vaszil and I am an LCPC and LCADC in the state of Maryland. I am a licensed psychotherapist and have been practicing since 2012. My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that meaningful healing comes through exploration, increased self-awareness, and the development of greater confidence in yourself and your ability to navigate life’s challenges.
I work collaboratively with clients to create a supportive, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where they can better understand their experiences, identify patterns that may be holding them back, and develop healthier ways of coping, connecting, and moving forward.
I provide therapy for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship and life challenges, and periods of transition or emotional distress. I also have specialized experience in trauma-focused care, substance use concerns, and working with LGBTQ+ clients in an affirming and inclusive environment.
My work with trauma includes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach that can help individuals process distressing experiences and reduce the ongoing emotional impact of trauma.
I believe therapy is not simply about reducing symptoms—it is also an opportunity to better understand yourself, strengthen your sense of self-worth, and build the confidence needed to create meaningful and lasting change.
